Creating Sovereign Capability: Why Australia Must Lead, Not Inherit, AI.

The Pearcey Oration, recognised as "the most significant technology oration in the nation", offers deep expert insights into the impact of emerging technologies on the future of Australia. This national thought leadership event connects influential people from across industry, academia, government and society.

The 2026 Pearcey Oration will be delivered by Aidan Tudehope to explore the issues of sovereign AI capability, capacity, and self-reliance. Aidan co-founded Macquarie Technology Group with his brother, David, and has served on the company's board since 16 July 1992, a tenure of more than three decades that few people in the Australian technology sector can match.
